KAUST alumni receive SPE 2020 Regional Awards

KAUST alumni Dr. Chinthaka Gooneratne and Dr. Bodong Li both recently received Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) 2020 Regional Awards for the Middle East and North Africa Region. Gooneratne won the Regional Drilling Engineering Award, while Li was awarded the Regional Formation Evaluation Award.

Sally Ahmed

Sally Ahmed was a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering in the Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Science & Engineering division of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. She was a member of the Integrated Circuits and Systems research group (ICS) from May 2016 to December 2020 and her thesis was supervised by Prof. Hossein Fariborzi. Mohammed Asadullah Khan

Mohammed Asadullah Khan received the B.E. degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, in 2008, and the M.E. degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 2010. He was a Design Engineer with Intel Integrated Platform Research Labs from 2010 to 2013. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Sensing, Magnetism, and Microsystems Group, under the supervision of Prof. Jürgen Kosel. Hussein Hussein is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Integrated Circuits and Systems Research Group under the supervision of Professor Hossein Fariborzi in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Hussein obtained his PhD in engineering sciences and microsystems from University of Franche-Comté. Hussain Fariborzi is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and the Principal Investigator of the Integrated Circuits and Systems (ICS) Research Group. Fariborizi addresses problems in ultra-low power Integrated Circuits and Systems, MEMS/NEMS IC design and fabrication, as well as novel switching devices for next-generation ICs.
