IoT light-driven synaptic devices

The Internet of Things (IoT) is driving a new generation of smart edge devices that combine sensing, computing, and learning capabilities at extremely low power. By leveraging 3D integration, these devices achieve remarkable miniaturization while boosting performance and energy efficiency. This seminar presents a flexible, back-end-of-line compatible optoelectronic synapse developed for neuromorphic edge computing. The device features light-tunable synaptic plasticity and ultra-low energy operation, enabling adaptive learning for personalized healthcare monitoring and intelligent vision systems. This technology opens exciting pathways toward next-generation wearable and bio-inspired computing platforms.
